Dear Friends,

I have just finished recording my eighth CD and I cannot wait to share it with you. When I record music I have the satisfaction of fulfilling what I believe is my part of a larger process – that of bringing music to life and sharing it with the world. Many of my songs are given to me in my dreams. Other songs are delivered to me by forest birds, as I photograph mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable Forest in Uganda. Still other songs come to me through the stories I hear when I visit orphanages and refugee camps. Some of these stories might be sad, but they all leave me very inspired and hopeful.

We have reached the times when musicians can share their music directly with their fans throughout the world without going through the middle man. In the past when I have signed with a record company, my greatest frustration was that their only purpose was that of financial gains and I believe these people have no business deciding which songs of mine should be included on a CD.

This time I want to do it my way, on my own terms and you will hear the music the way that I envision it. My hope is to have my fans sponsor the production of this new CD by pre-ordering it off my website. We have from now until mid February of 2010 (when the CD will be released) to implement this grassroots campaign.
