This WIND OVER THE EARTH RECORDS was inspired by children, or "Kambu Angels" from all over the world. "I believe we must celebrate our differences as well as our commonalities to have and maintain a strong global community."
- Samite
The prevailing theme throughout this album is wartime suffering. However, Samite's message is optimistic—hardship is followed by Peace, and life becomes sweet again. The song Sunrise promises: as the sun can be depended upon to rise each morning, the trials of refuge and running will end and a new beginning will emerge. The title track is dedicated to a group of homeless boys in Danane, Cote d'Ivoire who call themselves Kambu Angels, and to all children who endured the devastations of war. The song Dodo encourages villagers to plant dodo—a spinach-like green (a staple in the Ungandan diet)—that flourished even during the years of chaos, symbolizing the Creator's generosity during hardships. Mirembe remembers how the birds fled from the forests during Uganda's chaotic years; peace has invited their return, and the air is again filled with their beautiful songs.
